The Woman Upstairs

The Woman Upstairs - Claire Messud Slow moving. Repetitive. Boring. Not worth my time to finish it.

Daisy Kutter: The Last Train

Daisy Kutter: The Last Train - Kazu Kibuishi This book is not only gorgeous but it smells good. Printed on silky smooth high quality paper. A keeper!

Upping my rating to 4.5 Stars.

Attack on Titan, Volume 1

Attack on Titan, Volume 1 - Hajime Isayama I regret spending money on this... ! It goes straight to the read/donated/sold shelf. If I think about it too much, it will lose another star.

Blue Is the Warmest Color

Blue Is the Warmest Color - Julie Maroh The art and the story are easily 4.5 Stars. But, I had to really concentrate to read the handwriting, especially the cursive writing. It was just too tiny. It's a shame as it detracted from the overall experience of the book.

Saga, Volume 1

Saga, Volume 1 - Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples 4.5 Stars

NOS4A2 - Joe Hill 1.5 Stars

Major disappointment.

Can't do it. Life's just too damn short to waste my time on books like this.

Cruddy - Lynda Barry 5 Stars

I want to say I enjoyed this book but "enjoyed" is definitely the wrong word. I DO know I'm adding it to my -favorites- list. It is amazing. Maybe I feel this way because it's somewhat relatable for/to me .....as far as the partying... and the drugs.. and the strange and amazing "acquaintances" during my teen years. (late 1960's early '70's)
---alyssa carver, here on goodreads, reviews it perfectly!---

Flowers of Evil, Volume 1

Flowers of Evil, Volume 1 - Shuzo Oshimi I'm giving this 3.5 stars. I want to read more in this series... so rating may change.

The Goldfinch

The Goldfinch - Donna Tartt I'm gonna have to let this one go. I have no desire to pick it up again. I don't care enough about anyone to see what happens.

All the Pretty Horses

All the Pretty Horses - Cormac McCarthy 4.5 Stars

Divergent - Veronica Roth I gotta stop reading (and believing!!) the glowing reviews of the YA genre. Granted, I'm not the intended audience... but, this bored me. I had no interest in finishing it.

The Sluts

The Sluts - Dennis Cooper Interesting for about ... the first 20 pages. Then it just seemed repetitious. Can't say I was very impressed.

The Notebook, The Proof, The Third Lie: Three Novels

The Notebook, The Proof, The Third Lie: Three Novels - Ágota Kristof, Alan Sheridan, David Watson, Marc Romano Wow. Disturbing. Haunting. Fascinating. I didn't want to stop reading it. I wanted to turn around and start from the beginning again.

I completely agree with goodreader Lorenzo Berardi's review, especially:

"And then the second and the third part of the trilogy are a complicated mechanism in which what you read is not what you get and while you get it, it gets you."

Closer - Dennis Cooper I found it boring. Pretentious. Any and all characters completely unrelatable and unrealistic. Not worth my time.

Twin Spica, Volume: 07

Twin Spica, Volume: 07 - Kou Yaginuma This series has become one of my faves. Once I have the whole series I want to re-read it.

Toradora! Vol. 1

Toradora! Vol. 1 - Yuyuko Takemiya, Zekkyo Cute... but alittle too cute for me. I won't be reading anymore of this series.
